Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field
  • 0–2 years of experience (including internships or strong academic projects)
  • Experience using 3D CAD tools (e.g., Fusion 360 or similar)
  • Exposure to full product development lifecycle is a plus
  • Interest in medical devices, wearable technology, and regulated products.


Language Requirements

  • English (fluent written and verbal) – Mandatory
  • Arabic (fluent written and verbal) – Mandatory

Job Description​

The Product Design Engineer is responsible for owning the product design of assigned NEXA products, ensuring they meet user needs, functional requirements, and manufacturability constraints. This role drives the product design from concept through development and validation, while working under the guidance of the NEXA Product Team Lead.

 The engineer collaborates with Industrial Design, Hardware, Manufacturing, and Medical teams to deliver user-centered, reliable, and production-ready products.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership & Requirements
    • Own the product design of assigned NEXA product(s) from concept to production
    • Understand and define product intended use, user needs, and key requirements
    • Translate product vision and user insights into clear design directions
  • Product Design & Development
    • Develop and refine product designs, ensuring functionality, usability, and integration
    • Ensure all internal components are properly integrated within the product design
    • Work closely with Industrial Design to align form, ergonomics, and function
  • System Integration
    • Coordinate with hardware and electronics teams to ensure proper system integration
    • Identify and resolve layout, fit, and interaction challenges within the product
    • Ensure alignment between mechanical design, electronics, and user experience
  • Validation & Iteration
    • Drive prototype development, testing, and validation of the product design
    • Refine designs based on user feedback, technical constraints, and test results
    • Ensure the product meets defined performance, usability, and reliability targets
  • Manufacturing & DFM
    • Work with manufacturers to refine designs for manufacturability
    • Implement DFM feedback and ensure readiness for EVT, DVT, and PVT stages
    • Maintain design integrity across all development and sample stages
  • Regulatory & Quality Alignment
    • Ensure product design aligns with regulatory and quality requirements
    • Work with medical and compliance teams to support standards such as EMC, IEC, and biocompatibility
    • Contribute to design documentation required for regulatory submissions
