Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field).
  • 0–2 years of experience in product development, user research, or product engineering roles.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design and product definition.
  • Ability to translate user needs into clear, structured product requirements.
  • Basic understanding of Verification & Validation (V&V) and testing principles.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.
  • Interest in medical devices, wearable technology, and regulated products.


Language Requirements

  • English (fluent written and verbal) – Mandatory
  • Arabic (fluent written and verbal) – Mandatory

Job Description​

The Product Engineer is responsible for defining what the product is, who it is for, and how it should be used.

This role focuses on translating user needs, intended use, and real-world context into clear product requirements, ensuring NEXA products are meaningful, usable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

The role supports product development through structured analysis and validation, ensuring decisions are based on real insights, not assumptions.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Define and document the product intended use, target users, and use scenarios in alignment with NEXA vision and regulatory expectations.
  • Analyze user needs across patients, caregivers, and general users, translating them into clear product requirements and design inputs.
  • Map end-to-end user journeys (onboarding → daily use → edge cases) to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure the product experience aligns with NEXA principles: discreet, intuitive, non-clinical, and reliable.
  • Conduct benchmarking and structured analysis of existing products to inform product definition and positioning.
  • Translate insights into system-level requirements across hardware, software, sensing, and interaction.
  • Support definition of Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy to ensure the product meets intended use and user needs.
  • Define success criteria for usability, performance, and reliability based on real-world use.
  • Identify product risks (usability, system, and technical) early and support data-driven decisions.
  • Capture learnings from testing, user feedback, and clinical insights, and feed them into product improvements.
